Overview
Plate and Frame Filter is a type of filtration equipment commonly used for separating solids from liquids in various industrial applications. It consists of alternating plates and frames, where the plates are typically made of a filter medium (such as cloth or membrane), and the frames hold the plates together under pressure.

Principle
In operation, a slurry (mixture of solid and liquid) is pumped into the filter press. The liquid is forced through the filter cloths of the plates, leaving the solid particles behind. The filtered liquid (filtrate) exits the press, while the solid residue (filter cake) accumulates between the plates. Periodically, the filter press is opened to remove the accumulated solids and clean the plates for the next filtration cycle.
